INTERVIEW

Introduction of the person in charge at Fuji Education and Training Center

Executive Director
Fumiaki Sugai氏

Regarding the Japanese language, culture, and customs
A place for practical training to help people learn.

In addition to providing education to Japanese nationals, our center also offers approximately one month of training, primarily focused on Japanese language learning, to Technical Intern Trainee who have just arrived in Japan. Since these are all people living in Japan for the first time, it also serves as an opportunity for them to learn rules and customs that are taken for granted in Japan. For example, waiting in line to receive food in the cafeteria and not cutting in line. These are common sense things in Japan, but since attitudes differ from country to country, it is necessary to learn them as rules of conduct.

The day begins with the morning meeting.
Raising safety awareness is important.

We place particular emphasis on safety education. Our day at this center begins with a morning meeting. We warm up with radio calisthenics and practice pointing and calling. These are essential for protecting ourselves from danger. Then there's "greeting." It's fundamental to communication and indispensable for working together on-site. We believe that only when all of these elements are combined can we ensure our own safety.

"Manufacturing is about developing people"
I want you to nurture it with your heart.

Foreign nationals come to Japan with a strong desire to work. It is important for Host Companies to fully understand this desire and create an environment where they can be properly nurtured. Acquiring skills and techniques and becoming able to work is a source of joy for the foreign nationals themselves, and naturally, also for Host Companies. We ask that Host Companies nurture them with the steady spirit of "manufacturing is about developing people." The Fuji Education and Training Center is confident that we can be of assistance.

Nguyen Tan Gan氏

Basic Japanese language education and
Responsible for providing guidance on daily life.

I work at the Japan Reinforcement Bar Contractors Association, where I am responsible for supervising Technical Intern Trainee and supporting Specified Skilled Worker. At the center, we provide Technical Intern Trainee who have come to Japan with support for about a month, starting with basic Japanese language education, teaching them about work procedures and safety, and helping them with life in Japan.

To avoid any problems at the receiving organization
We even provide support on how to take a bath.

Vietnamese people don't have the custom of bathing with others. They also don't know how to use a washing machine. However, as soon as they leave our center, they will start living in dormitories at their host families. My job is to thoroughly explain Japanese lifestyles so that they don't have any problems.

INTERVIEW

Instructor Introduction

Part-time lecturer, Education and Training Department
Misae Machi氏

Even if you don't understand the language
They will nod if they understand.

I teach the basic knowledge and techniques of Reinforcing bar construction as a part-time lecturer. Since most of the students don't speak the same language, it's often thought to be difficult to teach them, but surprisingly, gestures and facial expressions alone can get the message across. When they understand, they nod their heads in agreement.

Polite, via LINE
Some people send New Year's greetings.

They remember Japanese customs and manners, so everyone shows respect, like stopping in the hallway to greet me. Some even ask for my LINE account, and I've received New Year's greetings via message. It made me really happy.
