Representative Director
Takumi Uchiyama
What were the reasons for deciding to accept them?
Until about 10 years ago, we continued to recruit through general job postings and high school student recruitment, but we gave up on that approach because employees didn't stay long and the number of applicants decreased. Instead, in 2017, at the suggestion of a colleague, we started accepting foreign nationals.
What were the benefits of accepting it?
What impressed me most was how quickly they became valuable assets. Initially, I was worried about the language barrier, but that was the only real issue. Besides, rebar work is basically physically demanding, so once they got the hang of it, giving instructions wasn't that difficult. In fact, they're still working without any problems.
What measures or precautions do you take after accepting them?
Initially, I prepared a text with translated names of the tools. Then, on-site, I would repeatedly explain, pointing to the actual tools and the text, saying, "This is what this is." However, even then, after two or three days, when I instructed them to "bring that," they would bring the wrong thing. So, I started drawing pictures to explain things, trying to make instructions as clear as possible.

I believe communication is the most important thing. Although I'm the president, I want to be like a father figure to them. Nowadays, it's easy to communicate through social media, so I've created a group and occasionally participate so I can be there to help them whenever they need it. It makes me happy when people who have returned home leave comments. I recommend it to everyone.
Voices from those working on-site
We spoke with Wafi, Specified Skilled Worker (i) employed by the company, and Director and Department Head Kobayashi, about their work and life in Japan, as well as their future goals.
WAFI
My dream is to one day open a motorcycle parts shop and build a house!
Wafi is in charge of rebar work at the construction site. In addition to sending money to his family, he came to Japan at the age of 19 with dreams of one day opening a shop selling motorcycle parts and building a house. Now he has settled into life in Japan and enjoys cycling on his days off. "I've been to a hot spring. It's so liberating and amazing, but I'm still a little embarrassed to be completely naked. So I wore my swim trunks." Still young and enjoying fulfilling days, he continues to work hard every day to make his dreams come true.
Mitsuo Kobayashi
He's a dedicated employee who puts in consistent effort every day, and someone we don't want to let go of!
When I first met him, I felt he was just as motivated as any young Japanese employee. He's positive and always takes on tasks he's instructed to do with a sincere attitude. Our work often involves carrying heavy rebar around the construction site, but he never shows any signs of fatigue and works hard, which truly impressed me. Seeing his consistent efforts, he's now someone I wouldn't want to let go of.
