Really? False? Beware of information on social media_1

To someone I met on social media
"I was asked to lend my bank account,"
I readily agreed.

Have you ever heard a story like that?

In Vietnam, especially in rural areas, many people do not have bank accounts, and there is a culture of borrowing other people's bank accounts in some parts of the country. However, in Japan, lending your bank account to someone else is a clear crime. One Vietnamese Technical Intern Trainee was asked by an acquaintance, "I don't have a bank account to send you money, so let me use yours," and agreed. He withdrew the money that was deposited into his account and gave it to the other person, but later discovered that he had been involved in a fraud case. The person who made the request was someone he had only met on social media, and he has since lost contact with them.

In Japan, there is a system in place that automatically suspends bank accounts when a person's residence permit expires, but in the past, it was common for people to sell their bank accounts before returning to their home country. There are many cases where people unknowingly become complicit in crimes. If someone asks you to "lend me some money," you should absolutely not agree.
