What were the reasons for deciding to accept them?

The primary reason is to secure human resources. Also, Vietnam is a pro-Japanese country, and the average age of its population is young, which is a big factor. We started employing people seven years ago, and at that time, the average age in Japan was about 46, while in Vietnam it was under 30. When I visited the country, there were a lot of young people, and it was very vibrant. We needed young energy, so we decided to accept them right away.

What were the benefits of accepting it?

They work incredibly hard, and their dedication means they learn quickly. They're also enthusiastic about studying Japanese, and their passion is contagious; no one in the company complains about their work. Since our workplace involves a lot of physical labor, they've become indispensable.

What measures or precautions do you take after accepting them?

There's nothing particularly special about it; even on-site, the basic method of teaching is the same as with Japanese people: "show them how to do it." When considering accepting them, the biggest concern is probably the language barrier, but gestures and body language are sufficient to communicate, and they take it seriously by watching and imitating. After about a month, most people are able to do the basics.

Please send a message to companies planning to implement this system.

One concern about employing foreigners is the worry of them disappearing or running away. However, in my experience, I believe that such problems won't occur if you maintain close communication. What's important is that you keep an eye on them in their dormitories and that supervisors and colleagues properly engage with them within the company. That's the best way to prevent trouble before it happens.
