"Rebuild the house"
I'm heading to Japan with big goals.
To help with household expenses, I worked part-time painting plastic car parts since high school. After graduating from high school, I served two years in the military, and then decided to work in Japan with the desire to pay off my family's debts and rebuild my family home.
I joined the company in 2019. My childhood friend, LUAN also happened to pass the exam for the same company, and we started our new lives together.
Japanese was more difficult than my job.
I started learning the job by doing things like masking and painting handrails. I gradually acquired skills by watching my seniors at work. I made sure not to repeat the same mistakes and approached my daily work seriously. The hardest part was Japanese; I had to ask for clarification many times when I didn't understand a word, and I also used translation apps to learn.
Studying to pass Specified Skilled Worker (i) exam.
During my second year as Technical Intern Training, I started studying for Specified Skilled Worker (i) exam. I struggled to understand the technical terms, but I gradually acquired knowledge by watching study videos posted on social media by Vietnamese people who had passed the exam. I studied diligently every day, teaching each other with LUAN.
A turning point year in which hard work bore fruit.
This year, I paid off my family's debts and achieved my long-held goal of rebuilding my parents' house. At work, I was entrusted with all aspects of the job on my own. My hard work studying for the exams also paid off, and I passed Specified Skilled Worker (i) exam. It was a year of major turning points for me. I believe I was able to persevere this far because everyone at the company kindly supported me.
Now it's my turn to support my juniors.
Since becoming Specified Skilled Worker (i), I've had more opportunities to go to work sites with my Vietnamese junior colleagues. I learned the job with the support of my seniors, so I make sure to teach my juniors as many times as needed if they don't understand something.
I passed Specified Skilled Worker (ⅱ) examination.
I'm currently dating a Vietnamese woman (Technical Intern Trainee) living in Japan. We met through a mutual friend, and she shyly told me, "We're thinking about our future together."
To the next dream
I achieved my goals from before coming to Japan. However, I want to further hone my skills and techniques, and I'm currently studying color mixing. I want to grow myself while supporting my juniors. In November 2025, I passed Specified Skilled Worker (ⅱ) examination, and the procedures are currently underway. In May 2026, I also obtained my driver's license. My next dream is to invite my parents to Japan.
A message from senior employee Yumiyama
From the first time I met him, he was a brisk and honest person. He learned the job surprisingly quickly, but more than that, his attitude towards work is different from others. He has a strong desire to meet expectations, and now he's TINH we think of when we need to take someone to the site. He has a reputation within the company that "he's amazing," and everyone acknowledges that. I hope he will continue to play an active role in leading his juniors.
