After completing his military service, he joined Daichi Construction through a relative's introduction.
I was born and raised in Phu Tho province, near Hanoi. My father was involved in house building, so I was familiar with the construction industry from a young age. After graduating from high school and completing two years of military service, a relative who worked at Daichi Construction told me that "Japan has a great lifestyle and good salaries," which made me want to come to Japan.
I arrived at Chubu Centrair International Airport after a grueling flight that included layovers in Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore.
I felt the pressure of the Japanese language very strongly.
When I first joined the company, I felt pressured because I wasn't used to communicating in Japanese, and I couldn't understand what I was being told or initiate conversations myself. However, thanks to the company's generous support, I was able to work and live with peace of mind.
Understanding Japanese opened up a whole new world of possibilities.
As my capabilities increased, the amount of work I did that simply involved carrying materials decreased. On site, I worked while receiving instructions from supervisors and foremen, and I think it was a big help that I gradually became able to understand Japanese. Also, the instructions were not only given verbally, but also explained with gestures and other means, which made them easier to understand.
I feel a sense of accomplishment from being involved in the project from start to finish.
Around my third year, I was able to participate in a project from the foundation work to completion for the first time. Because it was a factory construction project, it was on a large scale, and I felt a great sense of accomplishment.
The environment at Daichi Construction, where you can grow, is invaluable.
I completed Technical Intern Training and returned to Japan for about two months. During that time, I realized how wonderful the working environment and salary conditions were at this company. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find a similar job in Vietnam. That's why I decided to transition to Specified Skills.
I want to continue working at this company that has nurtured and supported me.
The company always thinks of us, providing things like a billiard table so we can enjoy dormitory life and supporting the cost of meals so that foreigners can interact with each other. I really feel that they value us. In order to continue working here, I would like to transition to Specified Skilled Worker (ii).
A message from senior employee Eguchi
He's usually cheerful and a real mood-maker, and he can be a bit of a jokester, but when it comes to work, he's incredibly serious. Once, on a job site we were working on together, we needed to hoist a generator from a narrow space, and I entrusted him with giving instructions via radio. I was listening to the radio nearby, and I was amazed at how clearly he was communicating in Japanese. Seeing him chatting with people from other trades on site really makes me appreciate how hard he works.
